The NFA Tax Stamp is an excise tax that was established by the U.S. in the National Firearms Act of 1934. The stamp is required to legally make or transfer ownership of an NFA firearm or suppressor.

All suppressors and other NFA-regulated items require a ‘Tax Stamp’. This tax is paid by the maker or transferor at the time of submission of a Form 4 application to ATF.

Please note that a tax stamp must accompany a silencer (or other NFA) purchase. Buying a tax stamp by itself will not start any ATF paperwork.

Step-by-Step Process:

3. Complete your purchase and head to our store!
   1. Create an ATF account here (this is required before certification) - https://eforms.atf.gov/
   2. Submit your fingerprints by visiting our system in-store
   3. Submit your passport-style photo by visiting our system in-store
   4. Certify in-store the same day!

Can I purchase a Trust in-store or online with Double M Defense?

• Unfortunately, we do not offer trusts through Double M Defense at the moment; therefore, you will need to purchase a trust from a third-party system if you do not already have one. Can I buy an NFA Tax Stamp without purchasing an NFA item?

• Yes, you can purchase a Tax Stamp at any time and have it ready for when you're ready to purchase your suppressor. However, we recommend to purchase the suppressor and tax stamp at the same time. Purchasing a tax stamp alone will not initate any ATF paperwork.
